Review:

Possession of My Soul is the beginning of a series I believe will be entertaining for the YA audience. I enjoyed the strength the female protagonist gained over the duration of the book which helped my resolve as to whether or not I would like her. My favorite parts of the book are the flash backs. They felt like missing pieces to a puzzle I couldn't wait to finish. 3 Stars!

The Faerie War (Creepy Hollow Book 3)

Driven by action, suspense, and a strong heroine, this deliciously detailed, bestselling YA fantasy will keep you turning the pages right up until the epic conclusion...

Violet Fairdale is in big trouble. Her home is gone, her beloved forest lies in ruins, the guy she gave her heart to has deserted her—and she doesn’t remember any of it. The powerful Lord Draven is taking over, brainwashing guardians into fighting for him. No one is safe from the evil spreading throughout the fae world.

As alliances are forged between the remaining free fae, Vi struggles to reclaim her identity and figure out where she belongs in this new world. When someone from her past shows up, life gets more complicated. He brings with him a long-forgotten weapon and an ancient prophecy that places Vi at the center of the fight against Draven. With the future of the fae world at stake, can Vi carry out the prophecy’s instructions before it’s too late?

[This title can be purchased as part of Creepy Hollow: Violet's Story, a boxed set of books one, two & three.]

[Second edition published Feb 27, 2015]

It seems no matter how times I've read Faerie War I always feel devastated when I finish. The book itself is based on an enormous twist in the plot. There were so many scenes that would remind of the movie Avatar. If I could visit any realm it would be one of Rachel Morgan's imagination. Ryn and Violet are perhaps my favorite book couple, ever! I adore the strength of their relationship and the time it took to forge their bond. I'm not a fan of "insta-love" and enjoy getting to know characters personally,  making this the perfect story for me. I can give 10 stars right?

                    COMING IN JUNE!

The Faerie Prince (Creepy Hollow Book 2) by Rachel Morgan

Packed with spine-tingling intrigue and swoonworthy romance, the plot thickens in this YA fantasy sequel from Amazon bestselling author, Rachel Morgan...

Guardian trainee Violet Fairdale is just weeks away from one of the most important occasions of her life: graduation. After messing up big time by bringing a human into the fae realm, Vi needs to step up her game and forget about Nate if she hopes to graduate as the top guardian of her year. Everything would be fine if she wasn't forced to partner with Ryn, her ex-friend, ex-enemy, current 'sort of friend.' They might be trying to patch up their relationship, but does she really want to spend a week undercover with him for their final assignment? On top of that, the possibly insane Unseelie Prince is still on the loose, free to 'collect' as many specially talented faeries as he can find--and Vi is still at the top of his list. Add in faerie queens, enchanted storms, complicated not-just-friends feelings, and a murder within the Guild itself, and graduation is about to become the least of Vi's problems.

[This title can be purchased as part of Creepy Hollow: Violet's Story, a boxed set of books one, two & three.]

[Second edition published Feb 24, 2015]

Rachel Morgan has an amazing talent of painting vivid scenarios and not only capturing emotions well, but realistically writing them into a story that encompasses a person's ability to relate and personal experiences. In this story there is no self-gratification, but rewards for hard work and an unrelenting drive to succeed.  There's no facade of inhumane strength,  but compassion and an involvement with what one might consider flawed. And it's all written into a fantastic fantasy realm filled with endless adventures. Every beautifully painted scene of the Faerie realm can be found in this series. The graphics are not only easily visualized, but simple, leaving room to focus on the action at hand. No matter how many times I've read the Faerie Prince I am always left in a state of awe. It is my favorite in this series. One of my all time favorites period. The direction the author takes with Ryn and Vi's friendship leaves me down right giddy. I am hopelessly addicted to the Creepy Hollow series.

The Faerie Guardian (Creepy Hollow Book 1)

**A 2014 Readers' Favorite GOLD MEDAL WINNER in YA Fantasy**

Enter a hidden world of magic, mystery, danger and romance in this YA fantasy from Amazon bestselling author, Rachel Morgan...

Protecting humans from dangerous magical creatures is all in a day's work for a faerie training to be a guardian. Seventeen-year-old Violet Fairdale knows this better than anyone--she's about to become the best guardian the Guild has seen in years. That is, until a cute human boy who can somehow see through her faerie glamour follows her into the fae realm. Now she's broken Guild Law, a crime that could lead to her expulsion.

The last thing Vi wants to do is spend any more time with the boy who got her into this mess, but the Guild requires that she return Nate to his home and make him forget everything he's discovered of the fae realm. Easy, right? Not when you factor in evil faeries, long-lost family members, and inconvenient feelings of the romantic kind. Vi is about to find herself tangled up in a dangerous plot--and it'll take all her training to get out of it alive.

[This title can be purchased as part of Creepy Hollow: Violet's Story, a boxed set of books one, two & three.]

[Second edition published Feb 23, 2015]

When a story becomes a source of addiction I like to call it the Rachel Morgan Effect. Sounds cheesy doesn't it? Well, that is the type of allure Faerie Guardian has to offer. It's one of those books that have me scanning the pages when I already know it has ended. The execution of the prose is flawless and entrancing.  The talent it must have taken to piece together what seemed to have been mundane aspects at the beginning into an epic plot line is staggering.  The depth of the emotions and the dynamic visuals draw forth an intensity that I now crave when I read. It's fine, it's fast-paced,  uses a lot of imagination and is entirely clean for the young adult audience.  I adore the direction Morgan took with the protagonists.  It may have been unexpected,  but it was absolutely perfect. This series is a rare gem for which very few books I've discovered could ever compete. She's a best-selling author for a reason and this is the series I try to shove down the throats of anyone who loves an amazing journey.

I read the series in a day and half on no sleep. Faerie Guardian is immediately addicting. The twists are thorough. The romance is savored with every word. This is a series I have read time and again, and it will forever brand me a Rachel Morgan fan. I've suggested her work to all of my friends, families, and co-workers. None have disliked it. Not one! I can't imagine any who wouldn't praise the fantastic creativity brought to life.

Logan's Redemption: Beast Realm Chronicles Episode 3 by Audra Hart

* * * Adult Content * * * This book is not intended for anyone under age 18 as it contains adult language and graphic scenes of D/s intimacy.

Mara and Logan have endured the fires of hell to forge a deep and abiding state of intimacy they believed as strong as steel. Her submission, freely given. His dominance, never more loving. As a result, their passions burn brighter than ever before, but new, sinister challenges lurk in the dark underbelly of the Immortal world. With rumor and innuendo rife, Logan's trust in Mara is shaken.

Will doubt and suspicion tear these devoted lovers apart once more? Or is their love stronger than the struggles they face?

With past demons and insecurities making it harder than it should be to do his sworn duty, will Logan believe Mara has betrayed him? Betrayed the very realm they've been tasked with protecting? Will he protect and defend his mate or will he allow doubt to cloud his judgment and rule his actions?

Thirty-five year old Mara is being pulled from all sides. Responsibilities of being a mate, mother and guardian of an entire realm weigh heavily as malcontents seem to plot her downfall in the Immortal world. But ancient prophesy must be fulfilled and Mara has a role to play even though her own mate now questions her devotion and the gods continue making demands on her. She must soon face the Primordial goddess of Darkness on the Assyllian Plain. DESTINY HAS COME A CALLIN'.

Will Logan redeem himself in time? Will he have her back or will Mara face her destruction alone?

Logan's Redemption is an excellent final installment in the Beast Realm Chronicles. Audra Hart did a fantastic job at using former controversy to mold a plot twist to have a reader on the edge of the seat. The chemistry between Mara and Logan is addicting. The tension creates a highly-anticipatory atmosphere. I, also, very much enjoyed the scenes from the other characters point of views.

This a book I would not hesitate to recommend to lovers of adult paranormal romances. The graphic content is explicitly steamy, the paranormal content (the shifters, magic, realms) are delightful, and the story itself is well worth the time.

4 Stars for a awesome read!

Review

Cameron's Rescue held my attention captive from the first sentence. This is exactly the kind of paranormal adventure I have been dying to get my book loving paws on! There is more action in the second installment than the first and it is a paranormal high. Blood Wraiths and magic make their entrance forming a delicious plot. But wait there is more! How would you feel about a wonderful inclusion of the goddess Nyx?! I went from fan girling to flat out giddy in 0.5 seconds!  I may have liked Mara's Homecoming,  but I could easily become obsessive over Cameron's Rescue.  It is also faster paced and on point more than book one. I've seen authors gradually make improvements with their works,  but Audra Hart leaped into greatness.

The conflict Mara has faced in the past with her abuse is painted into the background as she comes into the role of a hard core, but compassionate heroine/leader. The transformation she takes on is exquisite.

Cameron is extremely mature and understanding for his age. He not only plays the role of a genius,  but guided by his loving father and his abilities as an empath, it becomes more evident at what an incredible character he is in the story.

Another 4 Stars for Audra Hart!

Mara's Homecoming Beast Realm Chronicles Episode 1 by Audra Hart

Book Description:

* * * WARNING: Sizzling Hot Adult Content! This novella is intended for persons 18+ years of age * * *

Mara Aphrodisios Montgomery was born a bear. I don’t mean she was born bitchy or anything like that. Literally. She was born a bear cub who can shift into human form. She’s a member of an ancient, but dying race of Greek Immortals called Weres. Mara is a werebear. She met and fell in love with a Celtic Shifter, Logan Montgomery, but there are many among the so-called Immortal races who don’t believe Immortals should mate outside of their own pantheon. Hitler has nothing on some of these guys when it comes to fighting for racial purity.

Mara’s love affair and subsequent mating to Logan Montgomery opens the door to horrific grief, pain and suffering for Mara. She is brutally victimized and separated from her family for over a decade. But unseen forces are working to reunite the lovers.

Events beyond their control also push Mara and Logan to the forefront of an ancient struggle that is coming to a head. Soon they are neck deep in the newly formed Beast Realm. The Beast Realm is a loose affiliation of dual natured magical immortals who populate this world and various magical realms. Due to ancient feuds and prejudices the creators of various shifter races have decided to form this new affiliation to offer protection for the offspring of their children who are of mixed heritage. Treachery, intrigue, bloodshed and deceit rule the day as warring factions strive to control the formation of this new realm.

Will love everlasting ultimately triumph?

Of course it will. Eventually. You know how much I adore HEA ;-)
**WARNING** This book contains references to past abuse that may be troubling for some to read about.
"Cameron's Rescue - Beast Realm Chronicles - Episode II" will come out on October 31, 2014.

Review:
*****18+ MATURE CONTENT*****

      * PTSD Warning: Rape descriptive's are placed throughout the story. If you have any triggers it may be best to avoid this particular series. *

It's not often I dive into a book without first reading the description.  With this particular story I am pleased to have ventured into it without any anticipated ideas of what it might hold. Thanks to that I was surprised by several plot twists I couldn't have predicted from the book's opening scenes.

Mara's tale of abuse, loss, and betrayal is the driving force behind the first installment.  It's a well-written tale of recovery. The emotional atmosphere is thick with mystery and long over due passion. Both protagonists act out on the vulnerabilities they've been left with and through their bond, love, and the son they share together they are on the road to rejuvenation.

Mara's Homecoming contains a few grammatical errors that do NOT deter from the story's intrigue. It is a fun read, especially for women who appreciate steamy sex scenes. It is an adult shifter story I think a lot of people will enjoy. I definitely recommend it.  4 Stars!!!

Saving Dancer by Jordan Marie

Book Description:

Carrie

I’ve been in love with Jacob Blake since he picked me up in his strong arms. He held me close and promised me everything would be okay. I knew then, I had met the man who would own my heart forever.

I was five years old.

As the years went by, the need and longing for Jacob only increased—at least on my side. Jacob has never seen me as more than his kid sister’s best friend.

I’ve spent my life chasing after Jacob and trying to make him see I’m more than just his sister’s little friend. I never dreamed that by trying to show Jacob how much I loved him, I would also destroy him.

One night...one night that held so much promise, but ultimately destroyed the man I love and broke him in so many pieces, that I don’t know if he can be mended back together.

Jacob “Dancer” Blake

I’m finally home. Out of the hell hole I had been trapped in since killing another man. With the thrust of my knife everything changed.

That night I ended two lives, the scum who had been trying to rape my little sister’s friend... and my own. The other man got the easier out. I live and breathe in a hell I’ll never escape.

My brothers look at me with pity in their eyes. It cuts my insides out.

There’s trouble in the club, trouble all around us and I have to get my head straight. I have to be able to help them. Trouble is, I can’t even help myself. I just keep piling the mistakes up.

Carrie just might be my biggest mistake yet.

Now it’s another night that’s haunting me--a night that I keep repeating even if I shouldn’t.

I’m so trapped in the darkness that I can’t stop myself from going back because she is light.

She wants to save me. You can’t save something as lost as I am.

I’m going to destroy her.

Review:

I wanted to read Saving Dancer again immediately after finishing it! I loved Breaking Dragon, but I am in awe of just how far Jordan Marie has come and in such a short period of time. It's amazing.  Saving Dancer absolutely devoured by attention, monopolized my time, and consumed my every emotion. I am most certainly now and will forever be a devoted fan of Jordan Marie's. This book has sealed the deal. As I'm still suffering the lingering effects of falling madly in love with Dancer and this book, I am keeping this review short because I NEED to read it again before the night is over.

Desire (Brightest Kind of Darkness #4)

Book Description:

Now that Nara and Ethan are working together to uncover the Corvus’ secrets, they’re confident nothing can stop them.

But while they’ve learned to anticipate dark outside forces gunning for them, neither is prepared for the insidious evil that slithers its way into their lives, nor the new challenges that surface so close to home.

Despite all the chaos and turmoil around them, the one constant they can depend on is their devotion and loyalty to each other. But as their relationship moves into deeper territory, sometimes the toughest battles are the ones waged within.

While the hunt for answers unravels more layers in the Corvus world, they also uncover new truths about themselves and their intricate connection to the powerful raven spirit.

When boundaries are suddenly redrawn and control shifts, Ethan and Nara will be forced to make choices that could bring them closer together or rip them apart forever.

Review:

The title for the fourth installment in the Brightest Kind of Darkness series suites it well. If you're thinking that means there will be scenes of passion you are correct.
However, all graphic content in this novel is tastefully written and there are no vulgar descriptions. More than anything this addition focuses on strengthening relationships. Nearly everything Nora and Ethan conquer they do it together. However, a familiar stranger enters the picture with the intent and means to shred their their relationship into pieces. Destiny spins nicely written plot twists from the former novels into a satisfying storyline.  I loved every second of it and cannot find it in me to be patient for book number five! Another 5 star novel to add to the bookshelf.

Destiny (Brightest Kind of Darkness #3) by P.T. Michelle

Book Description:

When destiny is on the line, will love be enough to light the way?

In order to save Ethan, Nara gets pulled deeper into his dark world, where everything she thought she knew about Ethan and herself turns on its head. Ethan and Nara turn up the heat with bone-melting seduction and heart-rending moments, but surprising revelations, lies, treachery, betrayal, and unimaginable evil will challenge their relationship and their future together. As the stakes rise, encompassing more than just her relationship with Ethan, will Nara make the ultimate sacrifice?

Note: DESTINY is the 3rd book in the BRIGHTEST KIND OF DARKNESS series. It isn't the last book.

Review:

There is pure unadulterated passion within these pages. A passion to trust, to protect, and to love. Ethan and Nara both harness these intense desires, but from opposing stances. Intriguing, but horrific circumstances create new elements of intrigue and invent new plot twists. There is also an introduction to yet another new character who is quite comfortable making waves in Ethan and Nara's relationship.  I'm not who I wanted to throat punch more, Danielle or Ethan for his transparency.  At times I wanted to shake Nara and yell let him in already.  This installment in the Brightest Kind of Darkness series is intense! It's also laced with the familiar humor and laid back atmosphere we now expect from this series. If you loved the first three books (prequel included) you cannot miss out.  Happy reading luv bugs! (5 Stars)
