Death Design (The Daughter's of Darkness, #3) by N.L. Hoffman

Death Design (The Daughters of Darkness, #3)

Death Design (The Daughters of Darkness, #3)

Sin Noble is the President’s personal assassin, due to her unique ability to kill. What most don’t know is, he’s also her brother, and not at all the cuddly or loving kind, either. After surviving a difficult childhood and life on the streets, she adapted to her murder-for-hire lifestyle by going against nature and using her reaping powers to take enemies of the President before their time. As Death incarnate, Sin has the unique ability to alter the Death Design—the pattern that decides who should die, and when.

But tempting fate doesn’t come without a price. Or a questionable relationship with alcohol.

When she is sent by her brother to assassinate a suspected blackmailer, Sin soon realizes that the situation is more complicated than he let on. She is partnered with another employee of the President, Liam Sanders, whom she hates with a passion. When push comes to shove, that passion soon turns into something her hormones can’t refuse, and Sin can’t live without.

Constantly running up against her Supernatural fathers and sarcastic sisters, Sin’s tangled web of a mission reveals that The Covert is once again preying on all of the world’s inhabitants. Sin is desperate to discover the truth before she decides to take another life outside the Death Design. Will she be able to accomplish the impossible, while being pursued herself by mysterious dark forces? One thing is certain: no can escape their destiny. All will be revealed in the Death Design.

Two chapters into the book and the supernatural elements are pleasantly flawless.  It helps that I am actually cackling aloud! I already love Sin's amusing antics and she has a more mature vibe that calms me.

Sin is definitely the "loner" of the sisters,  and takes longer to come into her element.  Liam is ever so sweet.

I never found out what part if the supernatural realm Brian belonged and I hate leaving mysteries unsolved.

There is a revelation in the end to tie in all 3 sisters that I absolutely loved. It's worth the read.

A nice finish to the "Daughter's of Darkness" series.

Beautiful Collision (Desperation, 1) by T.G. Ayer

Beautiful Collision (Desperation, #1)

Eighteen year old Gray McAllister is on the run. Leaving her dangerous past behind her is easier said than done, even when she finds herself at last able to forge a new life.

But then the planets align and Gray finds herself bumping into super-hot Thane Blackwell. Drooling over him from afar is safe but that's only until she is forced to look after Thane while he recovers from surgery.

Being holed up in her apartment is a bad, bad idea. Can Gray control the fire that Thane seems to light inside her, or will she give in to her deepest desires. Can Thane achieve his goal without hurting Gray in the process?

The stakes are impossibly high, but love and lies don't play nice with each other. Will Gray's past catch up with her first? Or will Thane's own secrets explode and tear them apart?

From start to finish I was entangled in the mysteries of Gray McAllister's life.
I love her beautiful heart and determination to survive and do what is right despite all of the wrongs brought upon her in the past.

So much of Thane still remains a mystery, but it's not possible to look forward to unraveling his life stories anymore than I already do. The passion kindled between he and Gray are breath taking and I eagerly await to read about the next step into their relationship. Of course, the circumstances surrounding what is only the start of a relationship for them could shred all possibilities of a future together. I doubt another betrayal, from the one person she allowed any closeness, of all people, could be disastrous.

Book 2 cannot be released soon enough!

Chaos (Havoc Series Book 2) by Xavier Neal

Chaos

Clint "Grim" Walker has always been clear about two things in his life: his love of his Marine career and his love for Haven Davenport.

His self-missions were clear: be the best Marine possible. Protect Haven at all costs.

But when the two objectives collide they leave his once stable existence in chaos.

I've been aching to read Chaos the second Havoc came to its close.

Chaos is most certainly a suitable title as those are the feelings it provokes throughout the entirety of the book. At times I tried to reason through my distorted emotions that I had not heard or understood Haven's side during any of the messes their relationship finds itself. It's easy to relate to both protagonists.  It's just so intense and I know it hits so close to home for the typical areas relationship's tend to wander.  I wanted to throw something and I was felt pleasantly subdued at Clint's numbness and decisions.

Another 5 stars (until I read the next book hahaha).

Review:

New Favorite Author Alert!

Blood Slaves has a stimulating prose  provoking an exhilarating air of entertainment laced within every page!
The book provides so many different layers of intrigue it felt like I'd read ten  amazing novels instead of just the one!

People have brought it to my attention that they trust my recommendations. With that being said, any book I read through in one sitting is a book that belongs in YOUR library! I loved it.

I adore the personality the author gave the book. It's heavily laced with sarcasm, humor, friendships I envy, love I crave, and lust as a perk!

Too many of the reviews I read gave way too much information away. I'll leave it at this: It's unique, has a head - strong and sassy heroine, swoon - worthy men, and has an amazing array of mythological creatures made to feel natural in this epic thriller.

I'd give it more than 5 stars if I could!
I'm off to read the sequel. Books worthy of insomnia are not to be put on the back-burner.

A Man's Promise: A Short Story Collection-Ashton's Promise by Frantiska Oliver

Review:

A Man's Promise: Short Story Collection (Ashtons' Promise) by Frantiska Oliver

I love the idea of how this collection came to be. The stories within this collection are each unique to the other with only one common factor: the phrase, "A Man's Promise."

*Ashton's Promise
The first short story is by one if my favorite author's if all time, Frantiska Oliver. She is the author to satiate my Paranormal lusts. Keep in mind,  she is a favorite for a reason. She is an artist who paints realms that leave me in a haze by the time I realize I've finished her story. She is a master of weaving emotional atmospheres.  At this point, I need to warn you that there are graphic abuse scenes throughout her story.  If you have PTSD triggers you may want to star clear.

I will be straightforward in saying Ashton's Promise is a five star short story. Half an hour has passed since I finished it and I am still reeling from the effects.

There's something about the stories Frantiska tells that leaves me aching. The end always leaves me feeling hollow because I don't want to leave the realms she has created. Her words contain a rare hypnotic quality.

A talent of such a vast magnitude should not got unnoticed.  My heart longs for the day Frantiska Oliver becomes a household name.

I wish I could say more. I'm simply in a state of awe.

*Each story has something amazing to offer. I wanted to focus on each of the author's in this anthology,  but lack the time. Each offered something amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

Dead Wrath (Valkyrie #4)

Book Description:

Ragnarok is upon the worlds, and the time to fight is now. They come from all of the Nine Realms. Dark Elves, Dragons, Frost Giants, Elves ... They all come to fight for Odin.

And they answer to Valkyrie Brynhildr.

While Bryn grieves, struggling to cope with Sigrun's death, she knows too there is no time for tears. Odin is still a shade of himself and though there is no sign of Loki in all of the Nine Realms - Thor knows he is hiding in Midgard. As the Warriors gather, Bryn must head the offensive and enter the Human Realm in search of the Trickster and his henchman.

The war is silent and it rages all across the planet.

Ragnarok is here ...

In this, the 4th thrilling instalment in the Valkyrie series, Bryn takes the war to home turf. From New York to London, Interpol to CIA, Bryn and her team risk their lives to save their families, to the All-Father. And to prevent the end of the world.

Review:

The Valkyrie series only gets better!

Dead Wrath is a fantastically written, adventure - filled novel containing a mixture of multiple genres.

Name your poison. If adventures, thrillers, mysteries, romances, and paranormal are genres of your liking, you will find each of these in this one series alone.

In this installment, I could feel the Valkyrie series nearing the end if it's adventure.  A dystopian vibe is penetrated via the impending war of Ragnarok.  Bryn's leadership mentality left an admirable impression. It caused me to recount her journeys from her first book through this one. It may not be the last book, but I am already sad to say goodbye.

Despite Aiden's actions in a previous installment I found myself caring for him all over again. The author has much in store for him in Dead Wrath.

The new characters are welcoming and i love the new friends on this journey. Many questions are finally answered while new mysteries have me on edge as I wait for the Dead Silence release.

I'm still in love with the the clarity of this particular author's writing style. The descriptive elements are simple yet refined.

Another 5 stars for the very talented T.G. Ayer!

Hush (Senses Series #4)

Book Description:

When a career opportunity, that could jeopardize everything, comes along, he's put back in the position where he's spent most of his life. Torn. Now, Logan has a hard hitting choice to make. Tell the only girl he's ever loved exactly what he's feeling or fall back on old habits and keep his feelings on the hush

Review:

I have no idea how the author can keep making the series better with each book, but she more than manages.

If you would like to know what I enjoyed about this book I would get sued for plagerism. Every comma, quotation mark, and period would be listed right HERE!!!

If you would like to know what I did not enjoy....well, I doubt you'd want to stare at a blank page.

The story kicks off with the mystery question that left me on edge at the end of Numb. I was swooning from the start. The first few chapters in Hush are my absolute favorite.  Of course, the graphic adult scenes do have something to do with it. I felt like I was experiencing first love all over again. That's probably one of the reasons this series is one of my favorite's. The storyline has something for most people to relate to and the characters are hilarious. They bring to you a sense of "coming home."

The end is another cliffhanger to make it impossible not to purchase Savor when it releases. It's a major one!

Light a Candle for the Beast by Echo Shea

BOOK DESCRIPTION:

If you’ve ever been caught in a riptide, pulled down into the water, then you know me. Or, more accurately, what I’m like when I’m angry.

Delia was beautiful, smart, and kind. He wasn’t. He said he loved her, but he didn’t know what love was. He was manipulative and cruel—more than a thief. A beast.

All she wanted was a rose…

These are the words on my sister’s grave. Her sadness, her obsession, forever a reminder I didn’t--couldn’t save her.

I’m not vindictive or cruel. I’m simply as the river--my memory is winding and my reach is long. I watched him steal her beauty, her essence. Watched him become a beast. He thought he'd get away with it, thought he'd go free.

I lay a rose upon my sister's grave.

Light a candle for the beast.

Review :

*I received this book in exchange for an honest review *

Light a Candle for the Beast is the first piece of work I've read by Echo Shea, and I am now eagerly looking forward to reading more by this author. This a dark, Fractured Fairy tale with intrigue in details on every page. There is nothing of the mundane confined to these pages. I absolutely loved it and experienced deeply - felt sorrow for the primary protagonist.  It may be a short story, but the experience offered so much more.
