Kiora’s the Solace. She’s their only hope.

Review:

The transitions from from the first book to the last are vast. The Solus series began  as a "feel-good" paranormal romance and ended as an all out dystopian fantasy. I compared Wings of Arian to seeing "The Never Ending Story " for the first time. I would have to compare Wings of Lomay to "The Lord of the Rings". The plot is one of depth and strategy.  The story-line is bittersweet and heavily laced with an intoxicating emotional allure. In the end they finally stand-off with the Shadow,  the relentless face of unadulterated evil.

Life-altering circumstances may have forced Kiora into choosing between Emane and Alcander,  but her heart will forever beat strongly for both. No matter the choice made, devastation would loom either way. I am, however,  happy for Drustran-- shifter and prominent character throughout all of the books-- as he finds love. I would very much be interested in reading a series based on this character.

As I've finally read Book four, I can now say I understand Lomay's elusive demeanor throughout the series.  He is truly a noble and humbling character. I'd like to note that the magical characters I mentioned in prior reviews barely scratch the surface. There is some thing in this series for all paranormal lovers.
How a magical war involving an impressive dynamic of magical characters is written can be detrimental to the series, especially when it is the end of the story.  The strategic and visual effects inspire a range of emotions leaving one to feel drained. Each scene is written with vivid detail. The clarity of the battle scenes, the techniques...all of it left me in awe.

I imagine there to no limitations to Devri Walls imagination and for that I am truly envious and forever grateful that she shares it with us. I can't see any room for there to be complaints of her skills as a writer.

Wings of Nestor (The Solus Series #3) by Devri Walls

Book Description:
Kiora needs answers. Who is the Shadow? Who is Jasmine? Are they connected? And even more pressing—how can she stop the Shadow from using her dreams as a map to find them? They have escaped three times, but are living on borrowed time—and everybody knows it.

Kiora’s search will push her closer to Alcander, send her to the dragon mountain of Toopai, and lead straight back to Meros—where magic will finally return to the land of no magic. Answers will be uncovered and plans unearthed that have been waiting for thousands of years.

But with the Shadow’s forces gathering, the rebels are hurtling toward one outcome: war. Armed with knowledge and hope, Kiora is determined to change that path, but will fate allow it? Or will it teach her a hard lesson about following her own destiny?

*Please read the first two books in the Solus series before perusing Wings of Nestor*
☆POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT☆

Unbelievable! I thoroughly enjoyed the first two installments to the Solus series, but the third out shines them in every aspect. Wings of Nestor is perhaps my favorite in the series. They are all so  amazing that choosing one is nearly impossible.
The revelations are remarkable!  I literally had to stay up the entire night for this one. The connections from Wings of Arian to this novel are ingenuous! I am baffled by the skill and imagination that concocted every sentence of this series as a whole. I am always impressed at a well-written and well-structured novel, but to earn my praise the prose has to be something magnificent!
Emane is subtly written into the background,  yet maintaining a prominent role in the story. There are chapters via his POV concerning his relationship with Kiora that shatter my heart. His role in the installment leaves no reader room to doubt loving this character.
Alcander and Kiora are strengthening the bond with one another. I am extremely eager to find out where this is headed.  The scenes are anything but disappointing.
If you've read the first two books you've thought Dralazar to be an ultimate evil. His presence is easily overshadowed and the next villain in line downplays his heinous deeds to mere games. The heart of evil is truly chilling and the losses are great.
In past reviews I've left out other prominent characters, such as Drustran the shifter, Aturo the Pegasus,  and the ancient's,  Lomay being one presented in this book and the next. Drustran is always prepared with quick witted quips leaving me to smile or laugh. Arturo is the same while offering much needed wisdom and a firmness Kiora needs to handle attain a firmer grasp in her weighted role. Lomay sometimes feels like a mystery and is no less endearing than the rest of this dynamic group.
The mysteries abound,  strength is gained from breaking and rebuilding, and much of this story left me shocked. The Wings of Nestor is inexplicably better than the prior two novels in the series. I am already holding my breath and anxious before even starting the next novel.
A well deserved 5 stars for a truly amazing fantasy.

Wings of Tavea ( The Solus Series Book 2 ) by Devri Walls

Wings of Tavea is Book 2 in the Solus Series, a young adult fantasy series.

Kiora is rapidly learning that evil and lies come in shades of black and white and swirling greys, but nothing could have prepared her for the shock of leaving Meros. Kiora and her protector Emane step through the pass into a world they never knew existed but were always meant to save, only to find it far worse than they could have ever imagined. Good has been forced into hiding for its own survival, while the rest of the land bows to the Shadow, a force that pushes any remaining thoughts of Dralazar from Kiora s mind. This land is full of new creatures, each more dangerous than the last. Her visions have taken on a deadly twist, and magic, or what comes of it, was never so real. And then there is Alcander: a Tavean, their guide, and an entirely different kind of trouble.

ABOUT DEVRI WALLS:

REVIEW:

***Read Wings of Arian first***
***Possible SPOILERS. Do not read unless you have read the first book.***

The Solus series is a MUST - READ for magic lovers. Creativity flourishes in unique adventures and uncharted schemes. The prose effectively creates an atmosphere of intrigue. The story-line is truly incredible. Devri Walls meticulously constructed a broad collection of paranormal creatures that had otherwise been a gray area for me.

Wings of Tavea, quite literally held my mind captive.  As much as I needed to finish it quickly, the desire to prolong the story because I didn't want my enjoyment to come to an end. I thoroughly enjoyed the new circumstances but also felt the same home sickness of the characters and still harness a desire to read Wings of Arian again. I want to enjoy the euphoria of a first love as much as possible.

The story continues where Wings of Arian ends. The striking new personalities that emerge from the introduction of new characters ensures there will be no need to refresh any monotony. I had to step back for a second at just the how much the traits belonging to both Emane and Alcander resembled one another. Taking Kiora’s love for Emane into consideration,  I had to calm my nagging suspicions of an upcoming love triangle.  Because of Kiora’s steadfast purity I can't believe what actually happened! It's intense and Kiora’s emotions are easily empathized leaving the reader feeling as lost as she.

The author is wonderfully inventive and I can only hope she spends the rest of her life writing these incredible books for us!

I am officially addicted to the Solus series and wasting time before jumping into book three is impossible.

Another 5 star book! You WILL enjoy it just as much as I have.

Aphrodite's Secret by Samantha Ketteman

BOOK DESCRIPTION :

Kaira lives in the dark world of exotic dancing for survival and the rent. When one man enters her life, her world is turned upside down and inside out, where reality and fantasy seem to intertwine.
Kaira feels the eyes of a striking man watching her every move on stage. Zane is a scarred man with many secrets, one of which is the knowledge of who and what Kaira really is and the danger she will face.
While Zane fights a subconscious battle about what to tell her and whether he cares enough to get involved, another has noticed her as well; and Ithacan, sent to destroy her for what she is and take her powers to the God that has commanded that all Forgotten be exterminated so that he may absorb their powers and rule the Gods absolutely.
Before Kaira realizes what is coming for her, she finds herself tumbling into a world where a scarred man that she is inexplicably attracted to will become her only hope. A hideous creature, one such as she's never seen, is hunting her and trying his best to destroy everything and everyone she knows to get what he wants for his Master, and only Zane knows why.

REVIEW:
Aphrodite's Secret shines light on people forced to being a part of a damaged world, hushing the typical judgement, while at the same time providing entertainment through the snarky characters.  Perhaps my initial failure to include Aphrodite's Secret to my TBR list was Kaira's profession as a stripper.  I honestly wasn't sure this would be a paranormal romance that could stack up against my usual preferences. It took no time before I actually found myself excited to review this book!

Jasmine and Kaira felt like long, lost best friends I've been dying to catch up with. I enjoyed their humble yet strong personalities, witty dialogues, and the strength of their friendship.

As male protagonists go, Zane's vulnerabilities shattered my heart and I couldn't find out quickly enough of Kaira would subdue his insecurities.

And for the evil villain of the story: expect explicit, morbid details when he's involved. He's straight out of a horror story and I applaud the author's ability to paint truly horrific scenes.

SPOILER ALERT:

The ending did not suffice for me.

I am pro "Happily Ever After", but I am a cliffhanger loving kind of girl. I am glad that they aren't married and I'm hoping for a lot of drama and tension in the second installment.  The kind that has me screaming internally to just tell the other person their feelings, resolve misunderstandings, and unnecessary jealousies while secretly basking in them.
I really enjoyed Aphrodite's Secret and with little to no clues what Nyx's Light will contain... I am impatient for it's release.

5 stars

Fight For Dawn by Komali da Silva

THE EAGERLY AWAITED SEQUEL TO
Angels Dawn
She should've known better than to hope her life could be normal after losing her best friend Nate. It’s hard enough to deal with the loss but now she “sees” him everywhere. Add that to meeting Gabe, the new guy who sends her heart racing and Dawn is certainly spinning. It’s almost enough to make her forget the demons that lurk in the shadows.

Unfortunately the many distractions aren’t enough to purge Angelo from her broken heart. Her hopes of ever being with him again have been dashed. He’s moving farther away and there is nothing she can do to stop it.Soon the demons Dawn wanted to forget about will remind her of their presence and she’ll have to abandon everything else. Not only is her life in danger, but the lives of everyone around her as well.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

WARNING: Possible Spoiler Alert

I absolutely adore the intensity of the emotional atmosphere the author created. I was bawling my eyes out at the beginning of the book. The loss of Nathan, her first love, and the traumatic events had finally taken their toll.  I wasn't sure about the new guy in Dawn's life, but it didn't take long before I accepted his presence as it helped renew Dawn's strength. My heart is honestly torn between Dawn's new guy and her first love who cannot help his horrible circumstances,  but could, I think have fought harder for Dawn instead of wallowing in self-pity.

I enjoyed Dawn's strong resolve to defend herself and a certain scene where she physically took control.

The story-line was enjoyable enough to captivate my attention from start to finish. The dialogue is the cause of an internal conflict with me and certain scenes that ended vaguely or abruptly.  Those tiny areas caused distraction more than I would like to admit.

It is an enjoyable story and I recommend it for young adult audiences.

Wings of Arian by Devri Walls

They will have to trust each other with their lives, but right now Kiora would settle for a non hostile conversation.

REVIEW:
This novel is utterly fantastic!  I've been waiting for a new author to make it to the top of my list of favorites and now I am eager to present to you: Devri Walls!

Paranormal Romance will always be my preferred genre, but finding a great story among it can prove to be a difficult task at times. Devri Walls nailed it! There is an  enjoyable prose, a flawless collaboration of more mythical creatures than I've ever read in one book, a delicious romantic atmosphere, and adventures galore.  The dialogue is filled to the brim with humor creating a light-hearted atmosphere. And one of the most important components necessary for "the perfect novel": the author took the time to build onto the prose.

How often is that we read books these days where trust, respect, and love are built over time? How often do we truly see a prose that tests these boundaries with creative and infallible story-lines, rather than rush it to immediately capture the reader's attention? I have enjoyed my fair share of rushed relationships in stories and I believe those sort of relationships actually exist; however,  a great author will capture the readers attention using every element involved in a good book without having to leave other area's lacking.

I love not only the balance Devri Walls provided in her book, but also balance in theory and in character traits as opposed to unrealistic standards. She allows her male and female protagonist,  along with the enjoyable secondary characters,  human qualities that I've seen unrefined in some books. They are allowed to feel and show fear just as much as courage, weaknesses and strengths alike. The characters are a balance one to another to depend upon, to test, and to motivate.
There's also the meticulously written twist of how each consequence equally reflects an action.

I truly loved the characters, the romance, and the journey. At times I felt like a kid watching "The Never Ending Story" for the first time. So much took place to make it seem like a vast novel, but loved so well for it to end too soon.

Wings of Arian is a YA novel enjoyable for paranormal romance lovers of all age categories.  Enjoyable, however, is quite the understatement.  I am thoroughly impressed by Devri Walls. I highly recommend her books and as a picky reader, recommending someone for others to invest in is always done with absolute certainty of quality.

Dark Shadows by T.G. Ayer

My name’s Ella Raimi.
Until last week, my life was pretty normal for a sixteen-year-old. Until I spent that awful night trapped in the janitor's closet in utter darkness. Until the dreams began — suffocating, panic-filled dreams. My best friend Kyla stays with me, but the dreams still continue. And I wake each morning with cuts & burns on my skin. I don’t recall inflicting them.
And then there is the blood on my hands and my sheets when I wake up.
I’m afraid of myself and what I've done.
And I'm beginning to be more afraid of Kyla. And what she will do

Genre :Horror/Thriller

REVIEW:
As one of Ayer's avid readers I was initially worried about this new release due to the repetitious nature of the first few chapters. I am normally able to jump head first into one of her novels with no qualms. Also, chapter four held only one sentence.  Upon finishing the book, this issue I thought to be potentially problematic seemed justifiable, though I still feel it could have been added seperately to the end of chapter three.

I am beyond relieved and pleased to write that Ayer did not leave me at all dissatisfied. I found some elements easily predictable,  but also so intriguing that I absolutely needed to know every minute detail of each scene. The emotional angst in the plot was palpable.
At times I felt I would go insane waiting and wishing to appease my curiosity at a faster - rate.

I did not, COULD NOT have predicted the conclusion to book! As if I hadn't already reprimanded myself enough for staying up into the late hours because I "needed" to finish Dark Shadows and satiate my curiosity, the end product was the catalyst for my mind to run hyper - actively for hours on end after finishing it.
Dark Shadows is horrifying in realistic matters, emotionally intense, and riddled with a rediculous amount of suspense. Congratulations Ayer on another 5 star novel!!!

Lost in Lies (Never Say Neverland part 2) by Xavier Neal

Includes Bonus Content Get Lost (Book One)

Con Artists. Thieves. Hustlers. Not exactly the lifestyle high school senior and loner, Peyton Darling, saw falling into her
lap when the infamous, fedora wearing Just Ryan asked her for a small favor. She quickly finds herself tangled up in a
mysterious world with The Lost Boys, family secrets that come with the name Darling, and the unfamiliar territory of
falling in love.

If you thought you knew the fairytale, think again.

Lost In Lies:

When Peyton left her entire world behind to treasure hunt with the infamous gang known as The Lost Boys, she expected to just be used in cases of emergency. After all, what does she really know about conning and stealing? Aside from pulling a fast one over on her parents and the sexy fedora wearing Justin Ryan, who introduced her to the art of theft, she really is clueless about most things in that category. Seducing a teenage billionaire because he just so happens to have the next clue on this mission she willingly let herself get sucked into? Don't think that's enough pressure for a seventeen year old? Try adding on the fact she's being hunted by her parents, some mythical society she knows nothing about, as well as a rival gang from Neverland, the place they were supposed to be headed. And just when the complications are wound tighter than Belle's mini skirts, she's stuck making that choice every teenager hates making. Family? Or friends?

Review:
Peyton is not your average loner nor is Justin your average, charming con man. Their paths cross for a reason, but Peyton is capable of far more than Peter Pan could have anticipated.

I am in awe and absolutely thrilled that Get Lost is included with the book. Otherwise I would have gone stark - raving mad! The plot is well-developed to the point of utter perfection. I could see a movie in my mind as I raced through the words. The characters dominated my attention. I fell in love with Justin immediately. The same can be said with the female protagonist, Peyton. To-date, the "Never Say Neverland" series is the most unique and thrilling spin off the beloved "Peter Pan" tale.

The thought put into the deceptions and the cons is a level of genius.  Absolutely nothing is as it seems and each turn of contains a stunning revelation!  The emotional atmosphere wrapped around the characters, especially Justin and Peyton,  thrust me into a unbreakable trance.

Peter Pan,  Belle, and the rest of the gang have dominating personalities of their own and the secrets to unfold are never ending.  There is romance, action, and  comedy; witty and loveable characters,  and paranormal twists to create the perfect world to escape to.

I have fallen in love with Never Say Neverland!  Xavier Neal's dynamic writing styles have vastly impacted my views of her as a wonderful writer.

5 stars for the perfect gift.
