Collapse is book 4 in the Havoc series, but can be read as a stand alone.

Out of every single book I have read by Xavier Neal,  and I've read all but one, Collapse has left the biggest emotional impact. I laughed, I cried, and I fell head over heels in love.

Judging by his demeanor in the other books in the Havoc series I could have never even begun to fathom Michael's (Glove) depth. I most certainly would have been quick to deny him standing a remote chance of being my favorite male character. I have NEVER been so wrong. Michael's story  devoured me, heart and soul.

He has a tragic past and his  vulnerabilities consumed me. The joking and feigning ignorance is just a facade of protection.

Mandy, the female protagonist, is a witty, sexy character I absolutely love. Her desire to protect her heart is easily relatable.  Her laid back demeanor is refreshing. She's hard headed, intelligent, and fun.

Michael and Mandy's relationship/friendship is soul deep. It is the kind of relationship that is craved and one that comforts. The tension between the two is utterly intoxicating.  I will not ever get enough of these two.

On a side note, I am thoroughly impressed at the progress Neal makes as a writer. The fluidity of the prose is flawless.  It took nothing to suck me into the story and hold my intrigue until the end. This is one of the best stories I have ever read. I am over the moon to have it on my bookshelf. 

The Chronicles of Izzy Box Set

The Chronicles of Izzy series will have a special place on my bookshelf. As far as Paranormal Romance novels go this is a must read. It is beautifully written,  easy to follow, and easy to visualize. I adore the characters in the series. The witty bantering between creates a light atmosphere admist dark circumstances. The romantic tension between Izzy and Keenan is what initially had me hooked. The suspense and enermous plot twists are what ultimately captivated my attention through the end. There is certainly a special allure for readers who crave emotional roller coasters.

REVIEW:

I thoroughly enjoyed the first book in the  Chronicles of Izzy series. It has a laid back atmosphere with a lot of fun and witty bantering between Izzy and her unexpected guardian,  Keenan. The tension between those two is insatiable. And the secondary characters are entertaining and blend in well with the story-line. There are a few interesting twists in the plot rendering a reader eager to finish the story quickly. 4 stars.

The title for this book is absolutely perfect. Classic is a modern day tale of star crossed lovers. Imagine Romero and Juliet meets The Fast and the Furious. Throw in Van Gough art visuals and a solid foundation of intrigue is created.

New Adult Romance isn't exactly my preferred genre. However, Xavier Neal keeps publishing books that could have me easily addicted. The characters in Classic are probably my favorite to date. With each new story Neal's characters seemingly gain more depth, enhancing an already captivating story-line.

Merrick is probably the sweetest, most intelligent and interesting Alpha male I've followed. And I would follow him anywhere!  Jovi is the kind and considerate good girl who is desperate to break away from her father's shadow and stake her own claim on life. When the two met I was swept away. It was so sweet and just I couldn't imagine a more perfect scene. And the more time they spend together the more I could feel my own heart overflow with hope, love, and excitement. And while most may not be fans of cliffhangers,  I say the more intense the better. This is one to have anxious readers begging for more. Classic is the new series to follow and if I could give more than 5 stars it wouldn't even be a thought.

“You’re…home,” she says and the words are such a drastic change from the argument we are having that I have to stop and replay her words in my head. “Mama?” I ask confused on if we’re still fighting or what the hell just happened. I think the fucking woman just gave me whiplash. “You’re home, Dragon,” she says again, her eyes wide. She’s breathing hard, her hair is fanned around her face and down her shoulders. I don’t think, I’m pretty sure that’s impossible right now, anyway. I grab her by the back of the neck and slam my mouth against hers. Her hands come up pulling on my cut, at the same time I take her mouth. She pushes my cut off my arms and I maneuver so it falls to the fucking ground. I don’t give a damn. My hands reach the silk blouse she’s wearing and I rip it apart. Buttons pop and fly out of the way at the same time her hands lift my shirt up. I yank it over my head. Our lips break apart, only because I have no choice, as the shirt joins my cut on the concrete. “Fuck, Mama….” I hiss as her nails bite into my sides. I feel the soft skin of her stomach slide against mine. “Dragon, I need you.” She moans before our lips come back together. My hand goes to the button of her jeans, undoing it and sliding the zipper down. “I got you Mama, I got you.” I mumble, my lips kissing down her neck, my fingers slide into her underwear and immediately delve into her depths. She’s so fucking wet, my dick is pounding against my jeans—demanding to come out and play. I slip my fingers against her soaked clit torturing it and she bites into my shoulder. Motherfucker, I need inside of her now. I pull back just enough so I can slide her clothes down over her hips. My hand goes to my belt, fumbling around like a fucking teenager, when Nicole pushes against my chest. “No…” she growls. I jerk back. My dick is free, I’m about to slide home and now when she wants to stop? “Damn it, Mama…” “We can’t, not here, Dragon. Anyone can see.” It hits me we’re in the middle of the hospital parking structure. If I listen, I can hear cars and voices. I try to breathe, because I can barely think. Blood is pounding in my system and I can hear it echoing in my ears. I’m at the point I don’t care who is around, I’ll take her on the fucking hood.

REVIEW:

Today I had to deal with finding out about the death of a friend. I tried reading Loving Nicole,  but I felt lifeless and disinterested. I read an excerpt that intrigued me to want to push through it, only there was no pushing. Today, I am thankful Jordan Marie decided to become an author.  Without her vision and talent, making it through today didn't seem possible.  Thank you woman.

Jordan Marie weaved an intense story-line in this third installment of the Savage Brothers MC novel. Her writing is so vivid that at times I forget I'm not reading about actual events. Loving Nicole is one of the best Thriller's I've ever read. It is a whirlwind of emotions. The intensity between Dragon and Nicole is insatiable. It's my own little, personal high. The darkness that continues to disrupt their already chaotic lives is infuriating. My heart shattered for both Dani and Nicole. When the story focuses primarily on Dragon and Nicole I couldn't put it down. Their passion is one of craving and utter intoxication . Their story has come to feel like home. I cried three times reading about it. I rarely EVER cry while reading so be prepared if it's a common occurrence for you.
 I've also become far too curious about Crusher now to turn back, as if that were ever a possibility. I'm can't wait to read what Jordan writes next. Find out why everyone is saying Loving Nicole is the best Jordan Marie novel to date! 5 stars!

The Roche Hotel Season 2

Jane Seymour and the quirky staff of The Roche Hotel are back for another hilarious season of this Tudorific romantic comedy. Thanks to Jane’s no-nonsense practicality, the struggling hotel is on its way to becoming a thriving business. Henry the Donut Guy has won her over with his delicious pastries and irresistible charm. Even her ailing mother has found a new love. Life is sweet until a new assistant manager is hired…who just happens to be Jane’s meddling, sleazeball of an ex-husband. How will Jane keep the peace and prevent the hotel from going under without losing her mind?

Roche Hotel season 2 is a romantic, comedy novella. As it is a continuation from season one I'll dive into Jane and Henry's relationship. Jane's playboy ex-husband decides to show back up in her life as a permanent installment. Personally,  I don't see how he be can be anyone's cup of tea. As you can imagine that puts quite a bit of friction between Jane and Henry. There are a lot of silly, "it's one of those days" moments throughout the story to keep it light.  Jane doesn't seem as snarky in season two and I miss that. Hint hint. Bring on the feisty! And though there is tension between the pair, what with all of the chaos they now attempt surviving together, I wouldn't mind reading their thoughts on a deeper, romantic level. Though, I am fairly sure the nature of the novella is to be kept light, hence the comedy. The ending is rather perfect and incredibly sweet. A certain incident or three have me very much looking forward to season three. 4 stars!
