They say some things must be broken before they can be fixed. But when Michaela hoped to cast doubt on the Aethere, she never thought things would fall apart like they did. Now the Aethere have turned their attention to the End of Days, and they won't rest until they obtain the tools of Earth's final destruction: the Seven Seals.

The world is falling apart at the seams, and Michaela finds herself clutching the threads. She alone understands what will happen if the Aethere ever get the seals, and it's the one thing she will fight to the death to prevent if she has to.

Even amidst the devastation on Earth, Michaela struggles to restore her faith in Gabriel. Together, they'll need to decide if their love is strong enough to erase the line she had fought so hard to draw between holy and fallen.

Michaela said she wanted a war, but when the End is looming, what will she fight for?

Review:
The Lost one is, without a doubt, the  most unique apocalyptic story ever written. The plot absolutely explodes with creativity. A reader is forced to explore concepts and allegiances that can only be compared to the first realization that a mirror can only reflect opposition. It's astounding.

Shaky alliances are forged between Fallen Angels, Nephilim, Arch Angels, Loki, and many more in a war for the continued existence of all creations, and for what is righteous. Without having ever been betrayed, Michaela, would have never felt acceptance for the "abominations" she once condemned. Compassion is found for even the unlikely characters.

Michaela's vision surrounding the power of the seven seals was the foresight she needed to remain steadfast as everyone around her met their demise. Holy Angels suffering the most severe punishments, the plaques unleashed, and hybrids allowed to kill off the human race all in her name. Her greatest supporter, Clark, is still her best friend and most faithful ally as guilt further penetrates her heart. His unrelenting faith and dry humor are her comfort when nothing else is certain. His personality is humorous as ever.

Her relationship with Gabriel is even more mesmerizing. The choice he made out of love for her could mean the end of them. While Michaela's and Gabriel's relationship is shaky, an intriguing friendship forms between he and Clark when he chooses to dwell in hell to learn more of his own magic. Gabriel's point of view truly has my utmost respect and love for him. This book is full of promising surprises that do not fail to delight.

I thoroughly enjoyed the insightful flash backs throughout the story. It provided a stronger connection to certain characters on a more personal level. They were more than just informative. They were raw with emotion and further amplified the over-all quality of the plot.

The dialogues and scenery are nothing short of perfect. The introduction of new characters and twists is refreshing. There is no monotony to be found here. I can't praise 'The Lost One' enough. The second installment in this series is even better than the first, and the first is amazing.

Review:

I was gifted with this fantastic series in return for an honest review, and honestly no review could ever do it the justice it deserves.

Michaela's purity, along with her wings, is stolen as the consequence of betrayal. It is that moment that her absolution of righteousness is obliterated. Being the first born of Angels she has lost her place and is left broken. It was the love and friendship of an equally obstinate Clark to to see her to her strength. It was her irrevocable love for Gabriel and his undeserved, hellish punishment that revived her spirit.

Clark loathed his blood ties as a decedent of Enoch, protector and servent to Angels. With his loose tongue and grunge appeal no one ever imagined his fate for greatness.

Characters consisting of holy angels, fallen angels, Loki, Lucifer, Watcher's, Nephelim, and members of the order create a quite a diverse atmosphere. And most of these characters are filled with malice and a thirst for Michaela's demise.

The creative twists between Christianity and Norse mythology is beguiling. The plot blends both worlds together so easily it seems natural.

Pouring through books at an unrelenting rate I began losing fervor. Finally, I was gifted with this unique and amazing story that captured me from the very first line: " Heaven is a graveyard."

Every single sentence thrives with creativity. The personalities of every single character mesmerize me with their vitality. It's astonishing to think of them as character's in a book.

The story reads from different point of views but was with ease and allowed me to know the characters intimately. Michaela's relationship with Gabriel changes and rises to a more intimate level. It's intoxicating.

I could tell that much time and hard work was poured into this piece of work. The plot was meticously woven to create an exciting adventure with no loose strings. I'm baffled by every aspect of this novel. It couldn't be improved on an level.

It is my pleasure to be allowed to introduce readers to the perfect book.

REVIEW:
I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

Initially, I felt uncertain how to approach a review for this story. So to be fair, I read it twice. Yes, it is engaging enough to read more than once.

I felt that the plot would have held more intrigue and longing if it had been written from the female protagonist's point of view only. However, the transitions between the point of views were smooth and interesting.

Every sentence revolving around magic filled me with me excitement.  I enjoyed the journey with Cali as she easily overcame obstacles that would have been impossible feats had she stayed in her homeland. She would have never been able to master the arts her domineering father subjected to her without circumstances to match her restlessness.

The point of view from the primary male protagonist, Galadin, filled me with wonder as Cali's curious delights and adventures restored to him a vigor-filled essence. My heart ached from his troubled
past. His quest for retribution and self-denial lead me to praise him.

As I previously stated, the level of romance would have created a more anticipatory atmosphere. The writer was still able to capture it beautifully and nothing felt amiss.

Other reviews held complaints of Cali's whining and weaknesses. I, on the other hand, appreciate how she is portrayed. Our weaknesses make us real and we all feel the need to whine from time to time. Her characters are portrayed as real people handling life and tragedy in real ways. There was no facade of supernatural strength to quickly overcome the deepest wounds of the heart.

The scenery is explicitly beautiful.
There was no onslaught of useless adjectives, but descriptive to the point of being able to see these places and be there by means of the written word. Excellent work.

The combats, the adventures, and the adult content are all amazing.
The moments of reconciliation were honestly heart warming. And the end... You should experience for yourself.

I HIGHLY recommend this book. I, myself, will venture through it many times over.

REVIEW:
The adventures in the Immortal Essence is quite inventive. There are common areas as in most books: cults, power-hungry villains, and destiny. The beginning felt frustrating and after much consideration, it was simply because it was written for the young adult audience. The atmosphere of the plot didn't feel beguiling enough at first. It was, however, intriguing. Eventually, the day was gone, and I found myself caught up in an imaginative journey. The books turned out to be quite enjoyable.

The tragedies the characters endured were heartfelt. The emotions of the characters are real. The creativity poured  into the many worlds and species is admirable. There were just a few grammatical errors that don't take much away from the storyline. I was thoroughly impressed at how smoothly the dialogues had progressed throughout the books. Better than in many books I've read. My rating lacks one star short of five because I felt that in the last book the protagonists didn't receive enough attention to connect on a personal level. When they did interact, however, is was pure bliss and longing. I look forward to reading more works by this author and highly recommend Immortal Essence for the young adult audience.

Logan Westin, the brooding hunk that steals Kailin Odel's heart in SKIN DEEP. Even the fact that she's a panther shifter and he's plain old human couldn't stop the sparks from flying between those two.

But Logan has his own little secrets, a history that weighs down on him, memories that seem to escape him. PYROS tells you where Logan comes from both in the origin of his powers and the source of his troubled mind.

Pyros can be read before reading SKIN DEEP to maintain the chronology of the books.

Review:
Pyros is an excellent addition to the DarkWorld series. Learn more about Logan's traumatizing secrets and many secrets he, himself, has yet to unravel. Discover how his placement in Omega came to be, and how they "helped" him cope with his agony. If Skin Deep wasn't enough to drive your hand to the sequel, Pyros is sure to do the job. As usual, Ayer's writing is flawless. Transitions between Logan's childhood and the mission that led him to Kailin Odel is impeccable. Highly recommend Pyros to the many DarkWorld fans. I am happy to be a fan as well, and thankful to the author who sent me the books in exchange for an honest reveiew. I honestly LOVED it.

If you have not read Skin Deep, Logan is a fire mage (wielder of fire). Omega is unit that brings to mind a mixture of MIB and highly trained troops.

Some of you are in for a real shock upon discovering certain characters who are also in Skin Deep. I know it filled me with more questions and a lot of excited anticipation.

REVIEW:

Skin Deep is a desirable journey. One does not merely enjoy this book. Instead, each page is turned with fervor and the knowledge that more pleasure will come the further the venture. The characters are intriguing and the desire to learn more of them is adamant. The transition of dialogue between the primary characters is flawless. I highly praise the author for so much diverse research applied to the story. There is not an onslaught of useless information to take up space. The plot is complex, yet simple to follow. The romantic scenes are more felt than read. Then, the reader has to return to them time and time again with the refusal to tame their own hyperactive heart. Everyone has their secrets, and the more the truth is forced to surface the tighter bonds are forged. The heroine, level-headed, yet feisty and ferocious, is the epitome of strength and compassion we all wish to harness for ourselves. She is admirable to say the least. Our hero, hidden behind a mask of heart-wrenching secrets, is desirable to say the very, very least!
The characters are each unique. The story is unique and easily visualized and felt. The plot is thorough and well-grounded. Other than a couple of spelling errors,  I believe it qualifies for a best-seller status! Don't miss out on pure and unadulterated bliss. This book is every reader's dream!

BLURB:
I threw an arm over my eyes and just breathed. Oddly enough, it wasn't my near-death experience that had me so bothered. It was the confrontation with the blond guy and the odd conversation we'd had. He knew about the Otherworld. His words had proved as much. But was I reading too much into it? Was I secretly hoping he was Faelorehn? And if so, what good was it now? I was human. I knew that for a fact. Robyn Dunbarre has a plan. It may not be the perfect plan, but it is a good one nonetheless. Two years out of high school, and at the start of her sophomore year in college, Robyn is working her way toward a business degree with the hopes of someday managing the Green Tea Leaf, a local cafe in the bustling town of San Luis Obispo. What Robyn hadn't planned on, however, was getting caught up in the business of the Otherworld. When a young man from Eile saves her from the unwanted attention of a local demonic gang, Robyn learns that there are some things in life that she has absolutely no control over. Devlin O'Brolaigh is everything Robyn doesn't need in her life right now. Tall, incredibly good-looking, and enigmatic, she is certain his presence will bring nothing but trouble. When the Otherworld continues to encroach upon her and the lives of her friends, however, Robyn soon realizes that she'll have to ignore her sensible side and give in to her rebellious nature once again. Unless she can learn to trust Devlin, and work with him, she may become the next victim of the Morrigan's continuing legacy. But in order to preserve her life, Robyn may very well have to risk her heart."

REVIEW:
A new Otherworld adventure has begun. Robyn's dreams of the Otherworld become nightmares as faelah, a deadly cult, and a Faelorehn, hell-bent on becoming invincible, lands in her own backyard. Jumping at shadows, the strong-willed Robyn forms an alliance with an absurdly, handsome Devlin, a Lorehnin of the Otherworld.

Robyn's hardcore persona relents as empathy becomes her resolve. She helps out people she barely knows, befriends those who irritate her, and sacrifices her safety for a stranger who might possibly soften her heart. Alone in the world, after her best friends go to college and one to the Otherworld,  Robyn's need for a real connection with someone penetrates her soul. She is truly an endearing character. She is headstrong, feisty, and kind. Anyone would be lucky to call her a friend.

As I relate to the characters, ride the emotional roller coaster with Robyn, and fall in love with Devlin, I am enthralled. Reading it once is bliss. Reading it twice is enjoyable as I am now aware of the puzzle pieces leading to a surprise ending.

Well-developed plot. Smooth prose. Wonderful, descriptive visuals. Relatable and lovable characters. Realistic situations. Mad props to the imagination come to life. A must-read adventure with sinister villains, deceit, and abundance of excitement!

"If you don't feel it, they won't feel it."
You WILL feel it ;).

Review:

"No guts, no glory"

Advisory: if you are squeamish this novel is not for you.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.  The sense of duty to fulfill my obligation is my saving grace. The beginning was challenging. The descriptive fighting scenes were impressive, but I was not yet intrigued. For a lover of post-apocalyptic stories it is perfect. That, however is not my preferred genre. Yes, I found April inspiring. She is a machete wielding warrior with a lust for vengeance. She is hardcore and a devout fighter. Even her internal resolve is headstrong. The scenes are graphic and wreak of blood and gore. April is agile and merciless as she decapitates one vampire after another. Truly impressive.

Nearly halfway through the story my attention was captured. It began with a hybrid vampire named Miranda. For the sake of finding her family, April chooses to be led smack dab in the middle of hundreds of vampire hybrids. That is where she meets Rye. It is from that point on that I was entranced.

The rest of the novel was fast-paced and engaging. I read vigorously through the story, admiring April even more as she becomes invincible, and absorbed in the relationship developing between her and Rye. Then a war looms before them and is inevitable as it is detrimental to the hybrids survival. Though she won't hesitate to spill their blood when threatened, April's obviously not so adamant about eliminating the entire race anymore. She does continue to train with zeal when a metamorphic event takes place.....

The prose is simple and easy to follow. The plot is innovative, as well as enticing as it thickens throughout the book. The graphic details are placed meticulously.  Certain elements of surprises brands it unique among it's kind. I cannot finish the series fast enough.

Warning: Will result in obsessive reading and insomnia! ;) Enjoy!

This book receives 4 stars from me ONLY because it had taken a while for me to get past what I felt as monotonous. The further I ventured into the blood spill, the raging wars, the more absorbed I became with every word. The introduction to romance peeked my interest, the well-written plot kept it. With that being said, the rest of the novel is so amazing that it makes up for the initial slow development of the plot.
